Must be surprised and shocked to read the heading, as we all believe in myth that ghee is fattening and increase our cholesterol. And that is why we enjoy eating pakoras fried in oil but avoid eating Roti with ghee.

But I am sure you will be more surprised to know that Ghee by nature is lipolytic, that which breaks down the stubborn fat from your body. Yes …. You read correct …. Ghee is fat burning ingredient. Research has revealed that instead of increasing the risk of heart disease, ghee actually decreases it — and helps to reduce the cholesterol and fat.

Some interesting health benefits – will definitely change your perception

1. Ghee has antibacterial and antiviral properties, helping you recover from sickness.
2. The anti-oxidants in Ghee make it the miraculous anti-wrinkling and anti-ageing ingredient.
3. Rich in antioxidants, conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) and fat soluble vitamins like A, E, D, Ghee has just what you need for a healthy heart.
4. Ghee is excellent lubricant – very good for Joints
5. Ghee can help heal your digestive tract and helps reducing fat.
6. Ghee takes nutrients from your food and deliver them through fat permeable membranes like in the brain.
7. Ayurvedic physicians have been using ghee enemas for centuries to decrease inflammation.
8. Ghee stimulates the secretion of gastric acid, thus aiding in the digestive process. Better digestion equals better health and weight
9. Within Ayurveda, ghee is considered one of the most satvic foods. Satvic foods promote positivity, growth and expansion of consciousness.
10. Ghee (unlike other oils) is rich in butyric acid, a short chain fatty acid. Research shows that adequate production of butyric acid supports the production of killer T cells in the gut, and thus a strong immune system.
11. In fact according to a paper by the National Dairy Research Institute in Karnal, published in the Indian Journal of Medical Research in 2012, cow ghee decreases the activation of cancer-causing carcinogens in the liver.

Then what’s the bad about ghee? Absolutely nothing . So without any tension add ghee to your regular meal traditionally as our grandma used to add it to each meal ….Cook in it or add on top of cooked food, it will continue to bless you. Interesting part is Ghee never gets spoil and need not to refrigerate.

The positive subtle effects of ghee is said to come from the fact that it comes freely from cows. Cows are special or holy because they receive and store thousands of spiritual energies from the environment. The milk from cows therefore contains the essence of all those energies and ghee is the essence of the milk.

Don’t Be Scared of Ghee….Ghee was once thought to be unhealthy because it is saturated, but research has now revealed the truth about fats and oils. Ghee is one of the seven healthy fats YOU NEED in your kitchen.
